Jimia Smith graduated from Ball State University in 2003 receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management and a minor in Organizational Communication.

After receiving her degree she accepted a Store Management position with Bath & Body Works and turned an underperforming store around through hiring and training/development of staff. In 2005 Jimia pursued other career opportunities with Duke Realty Corporation where she discovered her desire and excitement for Commercial Real Estate Leasing. She was exposed to this side of the business while working for the National Development Retail Group at Duke Realty. Her position included performing leasing responsibilities for the Marketplace at Anson and West Carmel Marketplace projects.

In July 2008 Mrs. Smith joined Pedcor Companies as a Leasing Associate for Carmel City Center and other Pedcor developments throughout Carmel, Indiana.
