Mr. Stutzman has been a practicing licensed Architect since 1976. His expertise is in the design, administration and quality control of several commercial building types including offices, banking facilities, preschools, restaurants, industrial projects and retail environments. He also has expertise in national design prototyping, franchising, and forensic consulting.

Mr. Stutzman holds a five-year, Bachelor of Architecture professional degree from the College of Architecture and Planning at Ball State University, with advanced studies at London’s Architectural Association, University of London, and Universidad de Archeologicia y Anthropologicia in Lima, Peru. He is a corporate member of the American Institute of Architects, Construction Specifications Institute, American Institute of Steel Construction, and the Architectural Woodwork Institute. Mr. Stutzman also holds a certificate from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and is licensed to practice architecture in eleven states. He is also a licensed Indiana Real Estate Broker.

Mr. Stutzman’s professional career includes professional internships with several Indianapolis-area architects. Mr. Stutzman joined the Gene B. Glick Company as Project Architect and was responsible for design, research and development, and production of more than fifty million dollars in apartment community construction in a two-year period. In 1978 Mr. Stutzman founded Broad Ripple Design Associates, LLC, where he continued his specialization in large multi-family and senior housing projects built under HUD Section 221(d)(4) and Section 8 rental assistance programs. Concurrent with his apartment work period, Mr. Stutzman was commissioned for more than sixty projects ranging from a tropical hotel in British West Indies, to an experimental drive-through grocery prototype in Indianapolis.

In the mid-1980’s Mr. Stutzman was responsible for several dynamic projects including the historical restoration of Vanderbilt University’s 1895 Litterer Laboratories building in the historic Rutledge Hills area of Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Stutzman was also instrumental in the development and design of several office and condominium facilities in the Rutledge Hills area. During the same period, and in collaboration with architect, Edward Larrabee Barnes, Mr. Stutzman designed portions of the Christian Theological Seminary’s married student housing at Butler University. Other university projects include the Sister’s of Saint Francis dormitories and the chapel at Marian College.

From 1990 through 2004, Mr. Stutzman designed more than forty US Post Offices throughout Indiana. Additionally, Mr. Stutzman is a recognized expert and consultant in the design, construction and planning of commercial daycare facilities having designed large daycare facilities in eight states. Mr. Stutzman has expertise in the development of national prototype designs and franchising startup assistance for owners, investors, and developers throughout the U.S. who use his prototypical designs today for franchised facility development.

Since 1991, Mr. Stutzman has been retained to provide building forensic services and expert witness testimony for attorneys and insurance companies throughout the Midwest. He is a trained specialist in commercial insurance loss prevention and life safety analysis for commercial, retail and industrial properties. He has also developed, financed, built, and managed his own residential and commercial properties including a leaseback US Post Office in Michigan.

In 2004, Mr. Stutzman joined Pedcor Design Group as Vice President. In this capacity, Mr. Stutzman is the Senior Principal Architect and Director of Architecture for commercial projects undertaken by Pedcor Companies.
