Richard B. McCool, Jr., CPM, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Pedcor Homes Corporation was born April 30, 1959. His background consists of over twenty-seven years of experience in the management, acquisition, disposition, development and construction of a variety of properties, primarily in the multi-family sector along with commercial. This included supervising all aspects of over 3,500 apartment units in five states, with values exceeding $150,000,000 for both a family owned business and Cornerstone Properties, Inc., a large Midwest management company.
In August of 1999, Mr. McCool joined Pedcor Companies as its Asset Manager with the responsibility of acquisition/rehabilitate and management of apartments primarily in the Southern California area. In 2001, Pedcor Homes Corporation was formed to manage Multi Housing Family Properties. Since 2001, Pedcor Homes has grown to over 3,700 units, both conventional and tax credit properties, in 5 states with a value of assets in excess of $300,000,000.
In 2006, Mr. McCool created a Facility Management division that oversees all of Pedcor’s Commercial Properties in Carmel, Indiana which includes the corporate campus of Pedcor Companies, Old Town Shops (retail condominiums along with HOA management), Indiana Design Center (82,000 square feet of retail space) along with Carmel City Center (1,000,000 square feet of mixed use development with Phase I to open in January 2010).
He received his BS degree in Business Administration and a minor in Management from the University of Arizona in 1981. He received his CPM (Certified Property Manager) designation in 1987 and National Compliance Professional Executive in 2001. He is a licensed real estate broker and a member of Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors. Mr. McCool is also a capital board member for the Residential Property Management Program at Ball State University and serves on the board of the Indiana Apartment Association.
